These pictures stood out to me as they contain lots of variety and the scenes communicate a forest's atmosphere.
Mood boards are important so that I can really see how a forest can look from multiple angles, in different seasons, climate and lighting. I searched online to look at many real photos of forests as well as 3D forest environments to see how they translate.
